Mr. Hellmann help us understand...

At the most recent school board meeting, school board president Bill Hellmann was pleading his case as to why the district should not replace a para-professional. He said the districts' payroll was too high and the money would be better spent if it was put into the buildings, such as repaving the parking lots at Grandview and the IS/HS. Help us understand one thing Mr. Hellmann, if the districts payroll is too high, why would you hire a $25k a year communications director? Too us it appears that the hiring of P.W. was done to try to put a positive spin on the board majority actions prior to the November election. So help us understand your thinking...it is OK that you are for trying to preserve your board majority by hiring a communications director at $25k, but you are against the same amount of money going to someone that will work directly with the students to improve their education? Help us understand your thinking Mr. Hellmann.
