Wasteful overspending underutilizes grant money

A few facts Morrisville taxpayers should consider: First, $190,000 for the Morrisville Borough Library includes only lighting, suspended ceilings, and air conditioning for the upstairs; $30,000 of the $190,000 was allocated to install a three-phase electrical system, a system typically used for heavy industrial plants, not libraries. The basement, where almost all community meetings are held, will continue to be without air conditioning. This is what the Morrisville taxpayers received for their money disguised in the form of a grant. Apparently, elected council members do not understand that grant money is still taxpayer money.

It is my understanding that council will soon be voting on a $35,000 porch roof for the Morrisville Library. I have been a builder and renovator my entire life. I estimate that the roof should cost a total of $3,300 plus labor, not $35,000.

The porch roof has been there approximately 100 years. There is no reason why we need an engineer to redesign it. We need someone to give an honest estimate to restore the roof to its original condition as there is no reason why the restored roof would not last another 100 years.

Council has to dig deeper for common sense solutions to spread the $35,000 as far as it can go. For instance, the professional engineers hired should have cited some very necessary repairs that should be done before another harsh winter does any more damage. The whole roof needs repair, plus the entire exterior of the building is in dire need of having its stone repointed. Additionally, the wood frames surrounding the stained glass windows are rotten and need immediate attention. Why didn't the engineers notice this?

It is unfortunate that citizens will never learn about this waste of taxpayer dollars because the free Comcast government channel 22 has been shut down by the council majority. The volunteers of 14 years have been turned away from broadcasting the meetings with the claim that the new equipment they installed is not working properly. How convenient!

The only way to overcome this attempt to keep information from a large portion of our citizenry is to attend the meetings and listen to what is going on. You don't have to speak, but show by your attendance that the citizens of Morrisville care and are paying attention to how their hard earned money is being spent.

The next agenda meeting is Oct. 12 and the next regular business meeting is Oct. 18. Please make an effort to attend - there is power in numbers.

Maybe now Morrisville residents will see that the policies of those supported by John Galloway are not in the best interest of the Borough. It is clear now that Jane Burger is thre better choice for our communities.

I'll give this a whirl, although I don't know why. I suspect Stout cannot read. But then again his friend, Jane Burger, will have plenty of time to read this stuff to him after Galloway beats her in the next election.

I don't know who wrote this piece for Stout, but I do know that this article is completely politically motivated and has nothing to do with the Morrisville Library.

This article so misses its mark it reads like a bad joke.

Here's Stout, a school board director who never graduated from high school spouting off again against working on the town's library which is housed in the oldest building Morrisville owns.

"I have been a builder and renovator my entire life." I, along with others, would definitely like to see those credentials, Ron. Under the table?! I'm not sure Stout even pays taxes.

I'm not knocking the guy for not finishing high school, my own father didn't because he had to go to work to help support his family. But my own father was an honest, hardworking man. Unlike Stout who has, yet again, proven to the Morrisville community that he is a liar by the misinformation he provided in the article above.

Stout forgot to mention it was HIS BUDDIES WHO VOTED ON THIS STUFF and NOT THE CURRENT COUNCIL.

Sout obviously learned nothing when he & Mihok embarrassed themselves at the county commissioner's meeting. Even Commissioner Martin told him the three-phase electrical system was the standard. Stoud is a liar if he is trying to get the public to believe that it is only used industrially. Maybe Stout should rethink his job as a "builder and renovator" if he doesn't know this basic stuff. Maybe anyone who actually hired him should remember to pay your fire insurance & have his work looked at by an actual professional.

I wouldn't expect Stout to support the Morrisville Library because he doesn't support ANYTHING at all in Morrisville except his buddies. Where was Stout's complaints about his friends, School Board Director Buckman and Mayor Ledger who can go for years and years without paying their bills which falls on the taxpayers shoulders. Why is being a deadbeat okay with Stout yet working on the library is not?

Maybe he has been to busy harassing teenage girls to notice what his friends were doing.

Spending so much time trying to successfully put two sentences together Stout must not have realized that it wasn't the current engineer who worked on the library, it was the prior one, Burger & Mihok's buddies, Pennoni.

Council does not make up the numbers on how much these things cost, the engineer does, which would have been Pennoni.

Does this ignorant man even realize that when he is now complaining about the library work he is actually complaining about his buddies Todd Sanford and Eileen Dreisbach as well. Does Stout even realize that the work he is complaining about was NOT even voted on by the current council. It was voted on by the prior council, by Stout's friends, Jane Burger, Ledger, Worob, & Dreisbach.

What's wrong with this man. Fixing the library is a good thing for the whole community but it doesn't fit into his shameful agenda so he has to spew. I'm pretty tired of this group of old politicians deceiving and scaring the pubic over and over again.

Geez, it looks to me like Stout cannot be honest.....abou t anything. This was never voted on by the "council majority" because the equipment isn't working, it has nothing to do with council. Its not a matter of shutting it down. Stout knows this but just keeps spewing. The borough has needed new equipment for years. The quipment not working is nothing new. The funny thing about this complaint by Stout is that he & his friends have been running the equipment booth, but when problems begin happening with the equipment, they point fingers elsewhere. "How convenient!"

I'm thinking this man needs to have his meds looked at (by a professional, not just someone who knows about drugs). What "attempt to keep information", the meetings are public. Everyone also has access to meeting minutes.

Stout, in the end you will lose all credibility, if you haven't already.

County Commissioners Meeting

Below are comments from another post regarding the County Commissioners meeting held in the Morrisville Library. Looks like Marlys Mihok and Ron Stout really put on a show.

I heard an interesting story about this morning's county commissioner's meeting.

During the public comment portion of the meeting which is at the end, Marlys (who sat with Ron Stout) got up and bashed the CDBG grants & the work having been done/being done at Morrisville's library. Marlys talked about having paid her 25 cents a page at borough hall for paperwork on the renovations (because school board isn't enough for her) and that the money was wasted on engineering fees. The funny part about that is that when the new borough council got rid of Jane Burger's engineering buddies, Pennoni, (who did the engineering on the library) and brought in another firm, it was Marlys who had come to public comment complaining that they should keep Pennoni. I heard that this morning she was pretty tackless and open about her dislike for the library renovations. (No big surprise, its another educational facility.) I heard she really embarrassed herself with her rantings, which is sad because here these people are coming to Morrisville to hold this county meeting and there's Marlys acting like "herself" as a Morrisville resident and elected school board official.

This is the second school board official to recently bash the worth of the Morrisville Library & its renovations. Ron Stout came to a recent borough council meeting and bashed council for the work at the library. He ended his public comment statement by saying that anyone on council who votes for the library porch roof grant is a "rotten thief".

(On a side note)
I also heard that Ron Stout came into the library not long ago and harrassed a female teenage employee about the renovations & her job for 45 minutes or so. This teenage employee has a parent who sits on borough council. I heard Stout even went so far as to accuse this teenager of getting the job because of this fact. This kid could have gone anywhere in Bucks County to work but wanted to give back to her community. What is Stout, like 70, picking on teenage girls. Scary that this is who is in charge of Morrisville's children.

Of course Marlys & Stout wouldn't understand having work done on the library. Don't bother to do the work when it needs done so that it doesn't end up like the school district and who needs those pesky county grants so let's make sure a borough council that they don't like doesn't get any more of them. Just make them raise my taxes to pay for them instead.

Thankfully, the county commissions didn't feel the same way and today they gave the Morrisville Library an additional $1000 grant.

Marlys publically bashing grants to the very people Morrisville receives them from is what I see as a new low, but just another day in the life of someone like Mihok.

As for the Ron Stout picking on a teenage girl at work, I'm just shaking my head at this one. She should have called the police. Again I see this as a new low for Stout, but its just another day to him too. Routine business in Morrisville.

Well here we go again with the "renovations". The article says they will start in June when school lets out, but there is no mention of a completion date. And what's up with newly elected Ron Stout missing a meeting already?



Bids sought for elementary school renovations

The Morrisville school board voted 7-0 to award bids for Grandview Elementary School renovations Wednesday evening.

School board members Robin Reithmeyer and Ronald Stout were absent.

The heating, ventilation and air conditioning renovations are to begin as soon as school lets out this June. They will include work similar to last summer's high school upgrades.

Meanwhile, work to replace Grandview's aged windows is nearly done.


Bids will go out today to renovate the building's heating systems, unit ventilators, rooftop units, fire alarms, exterior lights and corridor and classroom lighting.

Bids will also go out to replace Grandview Elementary's two boilers and to combine the school's two boiler rooms.

On Feb. 24, Vitetta Architects expects to make a presentation to the board about the lowest bidder for the work.

Question for the masses...

Is it legal, or at the very least unethical for a judge of elections, who also happens to be on the school board to be distributing flyers(on school grounds) for candidates they support? And don't all political flyers have to have the "paid for" notice on them?

What is the big deal about someone not owning a home, and running for school board? Does this make them any less qualified? For some reason the stay on trackers have an issue with people that rent their homes/apartments. These folks do pay their taxes...it's called rent, and the taxes are built into the rent. Many of the stay on trackers have rental properties(funny thing is many of the stay on track signs are on rental properties) they should know this!

We mentioned in a post awhile back about how can Mr. Hellmann say the districts payroll is too high and he wants to put $$ into the buildings, but a back in June the board majority hired Pat Wandling as a "communications director"(political operative), and raised the payroll in a pathetic attempt to make himself and other stay on trackers look like they are doing a good job. Then come Sept. Mr. Hellman was vehemently opposed to the hiring of a teachers aide for the same amount of $25K. Mr Hellmann your credibility is currently zero, along with the rest of your cohorts.

It is imperative that everyone that is registered to vote does so on November 3. Morrisville can do better than the position the stay on trackers have left us with. Say no the ways of Mr. Hellman and his cronys that are up for election(Worob,Buckman,Stout,Dewilde), for they are just puppets of Mr. Hellmann. And say yes to a new Morrisville. A Morrisville that has pride, and a Morrisville that is known for the right reasons, and a Morrisville that has a future!


Added 10/29---Could someone confirm or deny if Ron Stout and Marlys Mihok made a rent payment to a landlord within the last month. We are not saying they are not paying their rent, we just would like confirmation if they are renters. If they are renters, using stay on track thinking, Marlys should step down from the board, and Ron Stout should drop out of the race since this renter thing is such a hot button for them. We could care less if you own a home, rent an apartment/house. We know your pay your taxes. And the landlords on the board should know this also. Enough with the double standards guys. It's getting old

School Board Meeting tonight!!!

The monthly meeting for the school board will take place tonight at 7:30pm in the LGI room of the IS/HS. This is the last meeting before the election on Nov 3. Come on out to see what these stay on trackers are all about. You will also get a chance to meet the Morrisville Pride candidates, we are sure they will be there, to answer any questions you may have. Do not expect to have any questions answered by the SOT team.

Anyway, if you want to speak, be sure to sign up before the meeting starts.

Will Brenda Worob be prepared, or even show up?
Will Angry Al be sitting there waiting to put his foot in his mouth again?
Will Bill Hellman fall asleep again?
Will Jack Buckman......do anything?
Will Ron Stout win another phony award?
Will Marlys Mihok continue to make a fool out of herself with her lies and deceit?

The audacity of the board majority and the stay on track slate is frightening!!

Be there to stand up for Morrisville! Don't let them ruin our town and our schools any longer.

Questions to ask the "stay on track" team next time you see one of them.

The next time you bump into a "stay on tracker" be sure to ask the following questions. You will probably not get an answer, or if you do it will be some sort of doomsday situation if they are not reelected. Don't believe the stay on track rhetoric. It is all false. And most importantly don't let these folks bully you or make you feel uncomfortably about getting your vote out. It is your right to vote for who you want to vote for. So vote with pride! Here are the questions to ask if you see any "stay on trackers"....

1. Has Jack Buckman paid his overdue municipal bills yet? How can we all get on the same payment plan as he?

2. Ron Stout...really?

3. Why are you telling people that the Morrisville pride candidates want to a new school?

4. Why does your website have outdated and false information regarding the renovations at the IS/HS.

5. Ask them what have they done to ensure that the children of Morrisville are in a safe environment while on school grounds.

6. Other than overdue renovations, and a tax break, what has the so called "stay on track" team contributed to the educational system of Morrisville?
